[while Blue picks at his gift, Lucina carefully sets herself down, bracing against a dull throb of pain that comes with any up-and-down. but the red-faced grimace gives way to more amusement as she sees him investigating one of the bows more carefully.

pleased:] It's a set. You said you wanted a gift not just for yourself, but all of your Pokemon friends, right? I couldn't think of any particular getaways that could top what you've already gone and seen, so...I thought some matching attire was just as nice.

See? [pointing.] You can change the width of those bands so they'll fit around looser or more snug. Aren't they charming?

[Mercifully for Lucina, Blue isn't the attentive enough sort to notice the signs of her pain right away, still staring at the little set of bowties. He picks them up, different sizes for boys big and small......... Mostly big. Very big. Hopefully one will fit Gyarados...]

[That concerned furrow won't leave Blue's brow. Why, why are all of his friends prone to such reckless heroics!?]

[Blue mumbles sulkily, gaze dropped. After a moment of silence he shakes his head out, the discomfort automatically causing a kneejerk reaction of self-blame in him.] --Sorry, you came all this way for my sake, and you even brought me something nice like this... I shouldn't be scolding you.

[He squeezes his hands together, then pushes himself up.] You missed the cake, so I'll get you some! Wait 'til you see this cute Eevee cake Archie made! You stay right there and rest, okay? You like tea or coffee?

[she feels a pang of guilt at his words, her folded hands fidgeting their grip in her lap. it hurts to hear him apologize for her -- this isn't something she's suffering through! she wishes he could understand that it's her who should be sorry, if anything...
