[On the third day, he gives up - he tries to call.]

[By now, Blue has well and truly disappeared. This morning, he called out from work and flew off with Gyarados to some remote national park- one of the ones he'd been meaning to go hiking through with Red, at some point. Get some training in, enjoy nature the way they missed doing so back home...]

[And now it was just him, Eevee on his shoulder, half-heartedly taking in the fall foliage around him, the crisp air- and not really thinking about any of it, pushing down all those memories and the exhaustion that had struck him so suddenly.]

[He feels his pocket vibrating and pulls his comm out to look at the call trying to come in- Eevee reads Red's name on the screen and whines from Blue's shoulder, trying to reach his paw out to the screen, but Blue hits the deny call button and turns his comm off before he can bap it.]

[Pocketing his comm, Blue keeps hiking up the trail.]

[The voicemail beeps, cuing Red to speak, and there's nothing. Just a concerned, "Pika" and a shaky breath before he cuts the feed on his end. And then:]
